Girls Just Want to Have Fun

It was back to the 80's tonight with the girls from GDI. We met at Jen's parents house for a surprise birthday party for Jen. We were all dressed in our 80's attire, and had Jen dress up as well. Gayle and Greg provided the dinner, and Gayle and Jill provided the game. They had us play the Amazing Race to "30". This was a big birthday party to celebrate all of us turning 30 this year. We started out at WJHS and had to choreograph a dance and perform it. There must have been a basketball game going on, and it let out right while we were performing. Then we headed off to my parents house. There we had to sing the fight song. The next stop was our high school hang out, the Scone Cutter. There we had to sit in our booth, order a shake and eat it too (not a problem), and answer questions about high school (which happened to be a lot harder than we thought). WJ Middle school was the next stop. There we had to sing Girls Just Want to have Fun, and make a music video. The last stop was where a few of us would earn a little extra cash-Shopko! There we had to try to buy 30 items for less than $20-of course we didn't make it. Final stop back to the Wyner's house to say, "We love the 80's!. We also had cake and recieved our parting gifts. What a fun night. I have a great group of friends and am grateful that we have stayed close over the years. Thanks Gayle and Jill for all of the hard work!

Last Home Game

Easton was so upset on Saturday because it was Utah's last home game, he actually started to cry! That kid is addicted to football! We had so much fun at the Utah/Byu game, it was even better that the Ute's one. It has been so much fun watching the Ute's this season and we are excited for them to go to a BCS bowl game.

November Birthdays

We have four birthdays in November in the Burt family. Aleisha is first, hers is on the 10th, Tau Tai's is on the 12th, mine is the 14th, and Mitchell's is the 15th. We missed having Aleisha with us this year, she was in Vegas for her Birthday. My mother-in-law is a great cook and makes the best Oatmeal cake and she made it especially for me this year-it was great!!!

Party Like it's 1978

It was my 30th birthday on Friday, sad I know! Spencer and our friends from our neighborhood surprised me with a trip back in time to 1978 at the Old Spaghetti Factory, and then my very own Princess party at the Mathews house. Once we were there they had all of my old pictures from when I used to dance, they had my cake, balloons, and a great video (thanks Steve) that was very embarrassing. It had pictures from when I was a baby up until now, and let's just say that according to Steve I am lucky that I never committed Suicide! They had presents-my old cabbage patch doll, and some other dolls wrapped up for me. I also got a book and 30 cans of coke! Thanks to my husband and to those who helped make my birthday a very memorable one. (Thanks Jen for providing the clothes.)

Happy B-Day Mitchell Burt!!

We have a special little boy in our family whose name is Mitchell Burt. It was his birthday yesterday, he is 2 years old. He is the sweetest little boy, and we are very lucky to have him as part of our family. Mitchell has Downs Syndrome. He is so fun to be around. We love to watch the faces that he pulls, most of these he actually learns from his mom, he loves to kiss with an open mouth with lots of slobber. He loves to hear "How you do Mitchell Burt how you do?" And while this is being sung he loves to shake your hand up and down. He loves to "Swim, Swim, Swim", and he really loves to pull hair. It is so fun to watch him and AnaBella together. They are learning to walk at the same time, the both love to climb the stairs, and Mitchell really loves to pull her hair. For the most part she is really good to put up with him. It is because she loves him already and knows that he is just playing. We love Mitchell and are so lucky to have him in our family. I can't wait to see what you teach us in the years to come.

100 Years of Magic

My Mom, Jill, Adrian, and I took the kids to see Disney on Ice on Wednesday. We all forgot our camera's so I took a couple of pictures with my cell phone. We went to dinner at Wendy's and then took Trax downton. The kids asked at every stop, "Is this our stop". We finally made it and the kids loved it. Then we had the adventure of taking Trax home. We got on a train that was supposed to go to the end turn around and head back to Sandy. Of course the train we were on was being put away for the night and we had to get off and wait for another train, it definately would have been faster to drive! We had a great time anyways!

Quest for Excellence!

What a game! I was a little nervous towards the end of the game thinking that we were going to lose. It wasn't too cold, and it had a great ending.

It sure is great to be 10-0!

It was a fun game. We ended up giving Easton's ticket to Jeremy and when we got home Easton told Jeremy, "You're welcome for my ticket." Easton was so sad that he didn't get to go to the game, but I was afraid it was going to be too cold for him. It was a good thing he didn't come. We had some drunk guy behind us saying the "F" word every other word. At the end of the game he went to give Jeremy a high five and Jeremy reluctantly put up his hand and the guy ended up slapping him across the face on accident-it was pretty funny!

New York, New York!

Spencer went with some of his friends from High School to New York this past weekend. They went to a Giants game to watch the Giants play. Brian Kehl is one of his friends younger brothers and they stayed at his place and went and saw the sights of the city.

They tried to get into the Late Show with David Letterman, but never got the call back to get in.

They had pretty good seats for the game, and the best part was that the Giants won.
The kids missed their dad, but he had a great time with his friends that he never gets to see.
