Easton's 7th Birthday Bash

We had a great time celebrating Easton's 7th Birthday with both the Hummel and Burt families.
One of the first years that I haven't made a homemade cake, I guess this is what happens as the kids get older!

Easton's Big Day

I can't believe that my oldest is 7! Easton is a very loving child, he is my pleaser. I am so grateful to have him in my life.
Easton started off celebrating his big day at the Burt family party at the Matua's.
On his actual birthday he had a baseball game and was hit in the face with a pitch. The first year of kid pitch baseball is tough on these kids.
After his game he was able to open a few presents.

Our own Mozart

Easton started taking Piano in October. He had his first piano recital this December. He did awesome! He played "Jolly Old St. Nicholas" and he was the only one that memorized his song. Granted he also had the easiest song to play, but we were still so proud!

Camden got to pick the order of those that were performing. My Sister-in-law Jen is Easton's teacher and Easton loves being able to make her proud. She does a great job and we are lucky that she is able to teach Easton.

First day of 1st Grade

Pool Party

We talked Easton into waiting to have his birthday party until it was warm enough to have a pool party. There were ten boys between the ages of 5-8 at our house for his party. I figured the boys could swim for about an hour and then we could play a few games, open presents, and have cake and ice-cream. I think these boys would have been happy swimming for three full hours, but I was finally able to get them all out of the pool. They took turns shooting baskets, they took turns being thrown across the pool by Spencer, and they had a great time.


After we got them all out of the pool we played a game that my mom had a bunch of kids play at my brothers birthday party. They had fun seeing who could get the most cottonballs from one bowl to the other.

It was funny to see their reactions when they realized they only got a few cottonballs in the bowl, when they thought they had them all!

We then opened presents. He loved everything that he received. Thanks to all of those that came, and for the fun gifts!

Cake and Ice-cream was last. Easton had a great time, and was glad that all of his friends could come and celebrate his birthday with him.

Easton's and Addison's Shared Birthday

We still hadn't celebrated Easton's birthday with the Hummel family. We ended up combining Easton and Addison's party, thanks Addi for sharing your day. We got Addi this Tinkerbell art set, we are so glad she loves it.
Aunt Ace and Uncle Bryce got Easton Bear's sheets for his bed. Once again, Easton is a huge Bear's fan!
Easton wanted Spongebob cupcakes, which is funny he isn't even allowed to watch it. He had Spongebob and Patrick cupcakes. I didn't take a picture of the tree, it was really cute!

Ever since Easton could talk he would tell you that his birthday was on "Tax Day". On his actual birthday he went to school and took Blowpops (suckers are his favorite candy) for all of his classmates. When Spencer got home from work we told Easton we could go anywhere that he wanted for dinner, he chose McDonald's. Last year we went to the Cheesecake Factory, this year McDonald's. He said that he wanted to save money-he is his mothers son!
When we asked Easton what he wanted for his birthday he told us that he didn't want anything. The night before I picked up a $4 kick stand for his bike. When I got home he saw it in the bag and asked what it was. I told him that it was a kick stand for his bike, and that this was his birthday present that he saw. He was so excited for his kick stand, that was all that he wanted. We decided that we would get him some golf clubs, this way Spencer has an excuse to golf more this summer. When Easton saw his golf clubs the first thing out of his mouth was, "Golf clubs, this is what I always dreamed of." Where does he come up with these things?
Easton and Camden both had a great time trying out the new clubs. We now just need to get him out to the driving range.

Easton is such a tenderhearted child. He is very sensitive and emotional, but we still love him. He is a great big brother, both to Camden and AnaBella. He loves Swiss cheese sandwiches, guacamole, Sunny Delight, and all candy. He loves riding his bike, being outdoors, swimming, Disneyland, his Dad, school, dolphins, baseball, football, U of U, and the Chicago Bears.

We love you and are so glad that you are part of our family!

Six years old!

Easton's birthday is on April 15th. I can't believe that he is already six years old, it has gone by so fast. We started celebrating on Easter with the Burt family. These are all of Sherry and Jack's grandchildren in their Easter hats-thanks Aleisha! Everyone knows Easton so well. He loves his new Chicago Bears football.

Soccer Game

Easton's first soccer game was pretty cold. Easton did great, he really gets aggressive on the field. I don't know who gives me better faces AnaBella or Camden?

1st Soccer Game

Easton had his first soccer game last Saturday. He loves it!!! He was so into the game, and very aggressive. He was trying to get his team pumped up by cheering, and yelling for them. He had this funny voice that he was using. Kind of rough and tough, we think he gets it from playing Madden football.

Yep, It's Football Season!

This is the conversation that Spencer had with Easton tonight, while Easton was sleeping:

Easton -(moaning in his bed)

Spencer-Easton, what's wrong?

Easton-Dad, I'm really sad because the Chicago Bears are going to suck this year.

Spencer-Yeah, they are.

Easton-They need a new Quarterback. Maybe they will get Brett Favre.

Back to sleep Easton goes. The funny thing is that we haven't even been talking about the Bear's, or Brett Favre around here lately. Also, a disclaimer on my part, Easton should not say "Suck", but how do you correct him when he is sleeping???

Another Tooth

Easton has now lost another tooth. Again, he did it when I was not around to see. This time he was camping, and it was just the boys.

This was Easton's real first day of school. The other one was just where he went to meet his teacher and do a little testing. He was so excited for his first day, and just loves school even a week later. He asks how many minutes until he gets to go to school. I hope he never outgorws that. He loves his teacher and is excited to learn.

Kindergarten!!

Easton is growing up way too fast!!! School started for all of the older kids at his school yesterday, but we just went in for a meet and greet at his school. Easton and Afton are in the same class and we went to school to have a look around. His teacher had a little scavenger hunt for them to get to know their classroom. Later that day we had to go back for his assessment test. It was so funny to hear some of his answers. When she would ask him what word sounds like Rug, is it Dirt, or Kite, or Bug. Easton would be so sure of himself when he answered Kite-like Duh!!! Count as high as you can, okay, 1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8.9.10.11.12.13.15 (not sure where 14 went) 16.17.18.19.20.21.22.23.24.25.26.27.28.29 long pause..... Mrs. D asks, Easton do you know what comes after 29? Easton: Hmmm....200

It was funny to hear the answers to questions that he already knew the answer to, but just didn't want to answer it right. He later told me that he was just tricken. I am not sure where he has heard that before. Also, I thought it was so cute when we were driving over to his assesment he said, "Mom, I sure wish Camden could come with us." He is so thoughtful at times, why can't they always be like that! I don't know why I can never get Easton to look at me when I take his picture. I thought maybe he would do a better job for Mrs. D when she took his, but he did the same thing to her as well. Maybe one day we will get one where he is looking at the camera.

Last day of School

The last day of School for Easton was a circus day. When I asked Easton what he wanted to be he said a Tiger. I tried to get him to be something else, but nothing but a tiger would do, so a tiger he was. Isn't this a cute picture with his girlfriend Afton, the ballerina?


They all just love Miss Tammy, she is such a great teacher. These are the two girls that we would carpool with, Afton and Sabrina.

Baseball Begins



In our family if you are a boy you are going to play sports, whether you like it or not! Easton played T-ball last year and had a rough go at it. You know crying when he didn't hit the ball, crying when he didn't catch the ball, crying when he did catch the ball because he couldn't throw it very far, and throwing himself on the ground in fits just because it wasn't going his way. He has made a big, okay huge, improvement this year. He is playing Machine pitch, and he is on the Rattlers. He loves it, and doesn't have as many meltdowns! He has a lot of friends from the neighborhood that are on his team and that always makes it more fun as well. Easton is pretty much the smallest one on his team, I think that is something we are just going to have to get used to.
